Senator Elaine Bowers files for re-election
Senator Elaine Bowers, Concordia, has filed for re-election in the 36th Kansas Senate district.
“It has been a privilege to serve Kansans, first in the House of Representatives and now in the Senate, for the past 13 years,” Bowers said. “I continue to be humbled by the support of friends, neighbors and colleagues. I am in awe of the people in the 36th District. Their hard work and perseverance through good times and bad should be celebrated and their interests remain my top priority.”
Bowers was elected Majority Whip by her col leagues in 2016 and serves as Chair of the Ethics, Elections and Local Government Committee. She also serves on Transportation, Judiciary, Utilities, Legislative Post Audit, Interstate Cooperation, and the Capitol Preservation Committee. Senate District 36 includes Rooks, eastern Phillips, Smith, Osborne, Russell, Jewell, Mitchell, Lincoln, Republic, Cloud, Ottawa, Washington, and western Marshall counties. Elaine and her husband own and operate Concordia Auto Mart, Concordia Chevrolet Buick and Beloit Buick GMC. They have 4 grown children and 5 grandchildren all residing in Kansas.
