Fisher Rocks spotlighted on HBO’s “Last Week Tonight With John Oliver”
Fisher Rocks, which customizes paperweights, stepping stones, benches, novelty rocks, residential landscaping signs and commercial signs all made from limestone rock quarried near Cottonwood Falls, Kansas, was recently spotlighted on the HBO series “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.” Fisher Rocks is based in Belleville, Kansas.
The segment focused on the United States Postal Service and how the public relies on it to deliver a variety of things such as Mother’s Day cards or rocks from Fisher Rocks of Kansas.
Since the plug for the company aired, the business has been busier than ever, taking phone calls and online orders from all over the United States. Julie (Kriley) Hartner who works for the business stated, “I am just in shock and over the moon about this great story about us!”
Stockton not only has a tie to the company because of Julie, who grew up in Stockton (daughter of Ray and Lou Kriley), it also has a connection to Fisher Rocks since a variety of its merchandise is on sale and can be purchased at the town’s floral shop, Twig & Vine.
