(The following article is taken from the Rooks County Health Center’s February 2rd3 regular meeting minutes.) President Jeff Van Dyke called the meeting to order at 6:10 p.m. The other board member present was Charles Allphin.

The menus for the week beginning Monday, April 26th, are as follows: Monday—Ham and potato casserole, peas and carrots, bread, hot cinnamon pears. Tuesday—White chicken chili, pea salad, crackers, ambrosia salad. Wednesday—Oven-baked chicken, coleslaw, mixed fruit, bread, pudding.

Week of May 3 Breakfast Monday—Donuts, fruit, juice, milk. Tuesday—Ceral bar, fruit, juice, milk.

At the start of the Rooks County Commission meeting held on Tuesday, April 20th, the commissioners approved the bid from Hill City Roofing at a cost of $19,950.00 for the replacement of the east side of the roof at the Redbud Village facility.

Terry Odle (following last week’s snow): “I left Hays at 6:15 a.m. and it took me an hour to get to Plainville because no one had even begun to clean the roads. Thankfully the road from Plain-ville to Stockton had been cleaned. The people in Rooks County deserve praise on the upkeep of their roads.”

April is National Occupational Therapy Month and Rooks County Health Center (RCH) would like to shine a spotlight on this important patient service.

Governor Kelly recently announced that ten-digit dialing will begin soon in Kansas area codes 785 and 620. This change will make it easier for persons in crisis to reach the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
