The story of Lazarus in John 11 was the focus of Matt MacConnell's sermon on Sunday. In reading the verses, you realize that there are so many lessons we can learn from this passage. The more you read, the more you see what Jesus was trying to convey to his followers.

News From Lowell Township

Body
This week's best news was the .90 rain in our gauge Friday evening. Surrounding areas, especially northwest and northeast, received more, but we got more than I expected. We had two nights without air-conditioning, and the cool fall-like temperatures were terrific.

And So They Say

Dale Anderson: “‘Confusion’ said when you enter a room to do or get something, but can’t remember what it was, you have senioritis. That goes along with bursitis, arthritis, toothitis, gassyitis, frustrationitis, reading glassesitis, and a whole gob of other itises and syndromes!”

ARE YOU A JEW? In Bible times, the Jews took great pride in being descended from Abraham. God had chosen to make a new race of people from him and his descendants. And he promised to uniquely be their God, guide, provider, and protector. As an outward, physical sign that they were His people, God also demanded that Jewish males be circumcised. However, over time, the Jews came to believe that being physical descendants of Abraham and practicing physical circumcision made them 'right with God' and gave them eternal life. However, God says in Romans 2:28-29, 'For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh; but he is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is that of the heart.'
