Big brothers Rhet and Jhet Hagan announced the arrival of their little brother, Hudson Layne, who was the 2012 Sentinel New Year’s Baby. He was born on February 2nd to Katie and Bret Hagan.
* The Carmichael Product Company will move next Monday to the Ordway building, the first door west of the Telephone Exchange. They have outgrown the place that they are in now and must have more room.
* 2010 Soil Conservation Award winners were Dennis and Marilyn Dryden, and the Windbreak Award winners were Darrell and Avonne Rubottom. * Plainville High School February Students of the Month were Cole Werner, Whitney Henson, Ashley Winters, Courtney Crawford, Connor Aldridge, and Jade Collins.
* A rural water proposal compromise had been presented to the city council and rural water users at the meeting by council member Paul Hancock. Hancock's proposal was implemented to address problems arising from protests by water users who objected to the City's $7.50 minimum bill for water use from the main water line, which brought water to Plainville from the Solomon Valley River.
A press dispatch recently released stated that U.S. Highway No. 40 North has been designated as U.S. Highway No. 24, confirmed by a letter to the Record from R. M. Sawhill of Glasco, secretary of the U.S. Highway 40 North Association.

The first phase of landscaping at the Stockton Medical Clinic consisted of 20-foot oak trees grown by Leo Bird and planted by Solid Tree Service, Inc. of Phillipsburg.
* The Plainville Fire Department purchased a tanker fire truck from Midwest Fire in conjunction with Hays Fire Equipment for $206,441.00. The City encumbered $3,416,00 for its matching funds that came out of the Equipment Reserve Fund. They also purchased six 800 MGH hand-held radios.
* Charles I. Sparks, judge of the 34th Judicial District has announced his candidacy for the position again and is asking for a re-election of the office.
