IN MAY OF 1983, Rupert Dryden was recognized for 50 years as an active member of the Masonic Lodge. Pictured are (seated) Maude Dryden, who placed the 50-year pin on her husband's coat lapel, Rupert; (standing, from left) Paul Roelfs, District Deputy Grand High Priest District 14, most excellent Grand Chapter RAM of Smith Center Roy Lumpkin, and Duffie Hindman. Roelfs and Hindman were also 50-year members of the Newahcuba Lodge No. 189 of Stockton.

THE SUNFLOWER CLUB was organized on February 23rd, 1897 and on April 15th, 1897, the name was changed to the 20th Century Club. Their motto “While we live, let us continue to learn,” helped them in establishing the public library. The organization was active in many community activities. The individuals and the date of this picture are unknown, so if any of our readers have any information about this photo, please let us know!

AFTER THE LAND WAS PURCHASED FOR WEBSTER LAKE, the Webster Store, owned by the Richardsons was the first building on the site of new Webster.They moved to new Webster on April19th, 1953. Albert and Frona Richardson ran the store until 1981 when they sold it to Harold and Wilma Getz. The name was changed to Getz’s Kuntry Store. For hunters, fishermen and locals, the store was a great place to buy bait, warm gloves, a cold soda or a sandwich.
