Rooks County Health Center will hold its Annual Meeting and Board of Trustees Election on Friday, May 1, 2026, at the hospital in Plainville. Voting is from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m., with the meeting at 6:30 p.m.

This year, voters will elect one of the five board positions. All registered voters within the hospital’s taxing district may participate and choose either a paper or electronic ballot. The current RCH Board of Trustees members are Dr. Shelbe Darnell, Brad Plumer, Dr. Daniel Sanchez, Anna Muir, and Jay Casey.

Current board member Brad Plumer has announced his intention to seek re-election.

Before Election Day, candidates will answer questions at a Q&A scheduled for Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Organizers will announce the time later.

We encourage all county residents to attend the Annual Meeting and vote.

Bow Creek, Sugar Loaf, Alcona, Belmont, and the city limits of Palco and Damar are not part of the hospital’s taxing district.

The five-member RCH Board of Trustees, established in 1954, oversees management and budgeting while supporting RCH’s mission to provide quality healthcare.

Board members answer to donors, the public, and the district as a whole, ensuring the hospital’s services stay strong and sustainable for generations.

Officials will announce the election winner that evening at the Annual Board Meeting on May 1.

“We did not have anyone use the transportation offered last year, so I am unsure if we will offer that service again, but we will decide that shortly and include it in the ads in the weeks coming up to the annual board meeting,” said June Karlin, Executive Assistant/Medical Staff Services Manager.
