National Guard Army Band to perform at the Nova Theatre
Wednesday, July 14th, at 7:00 p.m.
The 35th Infantry Division Band of the Kansas Army National Guard will be performing at the historic Nova Theatre in Stockton on Wednesday, July 14th at 7:00 p.m. This live performance includes patriotic selections, marches, and popular music performed by the 41-member concert band. They are planning a "kaleidoscope" performance featuring their small music performance teams (Bullseye Brass (brass quintet); Prairie Winds (woodwind quintet); High Speed, Low Drag (saxophone quartet); and Sounds of Freedom (brass band). The concert is compliments of the great state of Kansas—no admission ticket required.
Under the command of Chief Warrant Officer 4 Jim Walker, the band is comprised of citizen soldiers, contributing skills, talents, and experiences to the unit and to the Kansas Army National Guard. Like all National Guard units, the band meets one weekend a month and 15 days during the summer to rehearse and fulfill military training requirements.
As musical ambassadors, the 35th ID Band represents the Governor at civilian and military functions throughout the state, performing at parades, concerts, and political inaugurations. The band’s Summer 2021 concert tour includes Dodge City, Jetmore, Hutchinson, Hoisington, Larned, Colby, Logan, Greensburg, Fort Hays State University, Wakeeney, Stockton, Great Bend, and Wichita.
The Nova Theatre Board is very pleased to be able to host this performance for the public. This event will be on a first come-first served basis as our space is limited to 160 people.
