The Craft Basket in Alton was formed in the early 80’s when a few artisans from the Alton area decided to form a group to sell their handmade items. With the help of the Alton PRIDE, they were successful in attaining the community room for two months during the holiday season. Today they celebrate 34 years as they get ready to open for the 2021 season on Saturday, November 6th.

At The Craft Basket you will find unique gift ideas for all your Christmas, birthday or special gift needs plus homemade baked goods on Friday and Saturday mornings.

The Craft Basket is located on the corner of Mill Street and Nicholas Street in Alton, Kansas. Store hours are Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. from November 6 thru December 25.

A Post-Holiday Clearance Sale is scheduled the following week on Thursday, December 30, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday, December 31, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Craft Basket will celebrate its official Open House along with the Second Annual Mill Street Market on Saturday, November 13, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Mill Street Market was the brainstorm of three ladies to fill a niche for out-of-area vendors. More vendors will be in attendance this year for this Alton event.

Join them for a great day of crafts, lunch, baked goods, commercial items, etc. You will be glad you did!
