* Who remembers the bake sales in the front of Ostmeyers? I swear there was one almost every weekend when I was growing up. And that’s when they baked everything from scratch!

* Who remembers Peanut Day? It was so much fun buying a small brown bag or two of peanuts in front of the Record Office and looking for the name of one of the businesses nestled inside the peanuts so you could redeem the piece of paper for a prize?

* Who remembers running into Webster’s Supermarket to fill up water balloons or water guns from the sinks in their bathrooms during the Summer Picnic? There was always a trail of water from the front door to the bathrooms that entire day!

* Who remembers the two water fountains on Main Street?

* Who remembers night swims at the pool when they turned on the underwater lights?

* Who remembers the black cast iron pots the businesses used to cook the baked beans in for the annual summer picnic on Main Street?

* Who remembers the annual Telethon when it was televised from the basement of the Main Street Christian Church? Classes, performers, etc. would wait in the American Legion Hall and walk over as a group when it was their turn to be on TV. And let’s not forget Leta Bouchey, Merna Kincaid, Ileta Baxter and Betty Hunter as our very favorite commercial girls!

* Who remembers Prime Time Video? The music, the choices, the rushing in at the last moment to pick up a video to watch on Saturday night!

* Who remembers helping to butcher the hog to make fresh sausage for the annual CYO breakfast held on the first day of pheasant season?

* Who remembers hunting for morel mushrooms in the spring?

* Who remembers Mr. Nicholas’ band marching onto the football field to spell out SHS? The drum majorette lead the way as they marched. Mr. Nicholas was way ahead of his time, so take that, Ohio State!

* Who remembers the candy counter at Scott Variety?

* Who remembers when Stockton had at least three clothing stores on Main Street, and that many grocery stores or more?

* Who remembers roller-skating at City Hall on Saturday nights?

* Who remembers Wednesday dollar nights at the Park Drive-In and Ma and Pa Kettle movies?
