Yes, it’s time to write about my beachfront dream home! First off, it HAS TO BE right on a beach of white sand and crystal blue waves lapping inches away from my door.

I want a large one-story house with an over-sized deck facing the ocean, preferably situated on the Gulf Coast in Destin, Florida, known for its white sandy beaches. Of course there would be an entire outdoor kitchen with a grill and a bar area made from wood tiles and granite for at least six people, along with an outdoor shower to wash off the sand from the beach and a large stone fire pit for the s’mores I, or I meant to say, my kiddos love so much. The doors to the deck would be sliding glass doors that disappear into the slate blue cedar shingle frame so the entire side of the house could be open to the salty sea air. Right inside the glass doors is where my kitchen would be located. I would continue with my bluish gray theme with the color of cabinets along with more honed black granite for the counters and a mosaic-style backsplash. And of course, who wouldn’t want a large island for the family to gather around?

From the kitchen would be an open concept living room with a gas fireplace made with shiplap features. You know I have to have it so Santa can make his yearly stop at my house because I will be at the beach on Christmas! Anyway, off of one side of the living room would be two large bedrooms with roomy walk-in closets as well as its own bathroom for guests with large walk-in showers.

On the other side of the house would be the master bedroom with windows everywhere to take advantage of the ocean view. Of course there would be a walk-in closet, a dressing room and a bathroom complete with its own large shower, a double vanity and lots of counter space.

The laundry room would not only have a washer and dryer as well as a sink, but lots of storage for swimming equipment, swimsuits, etc.

No, there would not be a game room of any sort in the house, since I, along with my family, would be outside 99% of the time!
