Dog Days of Summer

* Did you know the term “Dog Days of Summer,” was coined by the ancient Greeks and Romans to describe the hottest days of summer that coincided with the rising of the Dog Star, Sirius? The best time to see the star this summer is from July 3rd through August 11th.

* A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the lawn mower is broken!

* Every dog must have its day.

* Summer is rays of sunshine; ice cream and popsicles; burgers, hotdogs and fries; corn on the cob; campfires and s’mores; boating on the lake; chilling by the pool; lazy days and twinkling stars.

* The Dog Days of summer can be ruff.

* But these are the days we dream about when the sunlight paints us gold.

* To err is human, to forgive—canine.
