JOAN BALDERSTON and her niece, Janet McDowell enjoyed eating some roasted corn on Saturday evening of the Rooks County Free Fair. Janet, who resides in La Grand, Ore., makes sure her annual trek to Kansas to visit her aunt coincides with the Fair.

THE PRIDE OF TEXAS CARNIVAL provided lots of fun, for young and old alike, from Wednesday to Saturday of the Rooks County Free Fair. Fairgoers were treated to cooler conditions than normal with the evening temperatures falling into the 60s.

CHRIS AND HENRY SANDER have overseen the chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, bunnies, and the occasional peacock at the Hrabe Aviary at the Rooks County Free Fair for over ten years. Henry has served as a fair board member for the past 13 years.
