County commissioners updated on road project

Rooks County Commissioners John Ruder, Greg Balthazor and Tim Berland met with road and bridge supervisor Rich Bouchey during their weekly meeting held on Tuesday, November 2nd. Bouchey informed the commissioners that the crew is rocking on 17 Road, and has laid down material on V Road.

KDOT announces approved October bids

The Kansas Department of Transportation announces approved bids for state highway construction and maintenance projects. The letting took place Oct. 20, 2021, in Topeka. Some of the bids may include multiple projects that have been bundled based on proximity and type of work.

K-383 project underway in Phillips County

The Kansas Department of Transportation has started preliminary work on Phase I of the delayed T-WORKS K-383 modernization project in Norton and Phillips counties. Phase I consists of approximately 6 miles of K-383 in Phillips County, starting two miles east of Long Island and ending at the U.S.

The Minnesota Crossers cross through Stockton once again

“Now that you are seeing the country by car, do you prefer this or walking?” we asked Erin Dietrich, when she and her husband, Chris Rea, stopped in at the Sentinel last Thursday afternoon, making their way home to Minnesota after walking across the United States.
