THE DEMO DERBY held on Saturday, August 14th at the Rooks County Free Fair brought the week-long event to a close with lots of action! Winners of the three categories were: COMPACT TOP 3: 1. Matt Ramsey, 2. Jerrod Alvord and 3. Jakob Church; OLD SCHOOL COMPACT TOP 3: 1. Adam Murchie, 2. Brandon Waggle and 3. Danny Martin; and SUPER STOCK TOP 3: 1. Nate Pasek 2. Kaiden Jeffery and 3. Trey Grismore. There were 32 cars that participated in this year’s event. The results of the car races held during the week will be printed in next week’s edition.

BROTHERS MAVERICK AND TANNER POST with Woodston 4-H were getting ready to enter their craft items for judging at the Rooks County Free Fair!.

BRADY KARAFFA, a member of the Dirty Dan and The Boys team, hones in on the calf he is attempting to rope in the Trailer Loading even of the Ranch Rodeo held on Sunday afternoon at the Frank Smith Arena. The Rodeo was attended by many enthusiastic fans who braved the heat to enjoy the action.

TANNER INGLSBEE, with Woodston 4-H, is just one of the many members of the county 4-H clubs that will be serving up whimpy burgers, Frito pies and cheeseburgers at this year’s Rooks County Free Fair!

THE ALWAYS-POPULAR Ranch Rodeo kicked off the 2021 Rooks County Free Fair on a very hot Sunday afternoon. The Dirty Dan and The Boys team from the Plainville-Natoma area won the Trailer Loading event. They are from left: Adam Zeigler, Jarrett Harmon, Brady Karaffa and Dan Prouse.
