Todd Wesley Jones
1979 - 2022
Todd Wesley Jones, 42, of Wichita, Kansas lost his lifelong battle with mental illness on January 25, 2022.
Born June 29, 1979, in Hays, Kansas, Todd attended Osborne High School until the age of 17, when he enlisted in the United States Air Force. After service to his country, Todd graduated from North Central Kansas Technical College, becoming a certified journeyman and HVAC inspector for the City of Wichita.
A true craftsman, in his spare time, he spent hours working on multiple home improvement and building projects. He had a passion for music, learning to play drums as a young man and later in life the guitar.
A loving father, son and brother, Todd’s greatest accomplishment and joy came in the form of his two sons, Thijs, and Noah. Todd would comment often that his sons were “Angels sent from Heaven,” and now heaven has a Guardian Angel watching over them.
Todd is survived by his sons, Thijs and Noah Jones; his mother, Dana Skillen; his sister, Kimberly (Jones) Hill and family; stepfather, Jim Skillen and family; and a host of beloved cousins, aunts and uncles.
He is preceded in death by his father, Dale Jones; grandmother, Clara Jones; grandparents, Glenn and Opal Greene; and grandmother, Karlene Skillen.
In lieu of flowers, please be kind to one another. Share your struggles, fears, and joys, be present and patient in each other’s journeys. And when love seems to fail—because sometimes love is not enough to ward off health conditions—then love more, pray more, talk more, learn more, be more accepting of those struggling just to live another day and let love remain.
Private family services will take place in the summer of 2022.
