Roger Lynn Corwin, age 66, of Russell, Kansas, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, December 4, 2025, in Stockton, Kansas.

He was born on September 1, 1959, in Plainville, Kansas, to Albert  “Bud” and Mary (Dougherty) Corwin. Roger grew up in Plainville, Kansas, and graduated from Plainville High School in 1977. He also attended Vo-Tech College for auto mechanics and diesel mechanics.

Roger worked in the oil fields for over 40 years as a driller and a pumper. He worked for Wal-Mart in Hays, Kansas, for 14 years, and for Shane’s Casing, LLC, for the last three years.  He was passionate about demolition derby and dedicated most of his free time to the sport; he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors.

Roger is survived by his daughter, Jessica Miller and husband, Robert, Salina; his daughter-in-law, KayDee Corwin-Carlisle, Hays; his grandchildren, Ellyssia Tilley; Rylie Branesky; Raydyn Owen; Derek Corwin; Landon Miller; Gracelynn Miller; Ross Miller; Chassidy Carlisle; Carter Carlisle and Theron Thompson; his great-grandchildren, Dedra Tilley and Atreus Tilley; his sisters, Lou Kriley, Stockton, Karen Dunn and husband, Roy, Wright City, Mo., Rosie Hake and husband Bill, Newton, Beckey Brungardt and husband, Dennis, Bazine, Melva Vopat, Hays, and Theresa Earls, El Dorado; his brother-in-law, Robert “Bob” Allen, Cuba; and his step-mother, Katherine Corwin, Hays.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert “Bud” and Mary Corwin; his son, Jacob Corwin; his

nephew, John Wickham; his sisters, Evelyn Pywell and Roy; Connie Allen; and his brothers-in-law, Ray Kriley; and Jerry Vopat.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Cline's-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, with Reverend Troy Miller, Officiating.  

A luncheon will be served at the Gorham Senior Center following the service, and everyone is invited. The  Graveside Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the Winterset Cemetery south of Gorham, Kansas.

Visitation is from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, and from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, all at Cline-Keithley Mortuary of Hays.
