Former Plainville resident Norma Leigh Bard, 97, Wiggins, Colo., passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026.

She was born on August 28, 1928.

She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after 30 years of dedicated service. She also volunteered at Hays Medical Center, generously giving her time to support the community.

In addition to her volunteer work, Norma loved to travel, embracing new places and experiences throughout her long life. She found joy in sewing and quilting, sharing her creativity and warmth through every piece she made. Norma lived a long and meaningful life and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Ella Bard, along with five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside service at Plainville is scheduled for Tuesday, June 2, at 11 a.m. at Plainville City Cemetery.
