Body

Lawrence Donald “Larry” Pulec, age 84, passed away on December 16, 2025, at Solomon Valley Manor in Stockton, Kansas.

He was born on February 6, 1941, in Webster, Kansas, to Ernest and Elma (Woody) Pulec. He graduated from Emporia High School in 1958 and went on to spend much of his life doing what he loved—working with his hands and helping others. Larry worked on tractors for Alvy Bobbitt, earning a reputation as someone who could fix just about anything.

Larry married Gloria (Wise) Pulec. Together, they built a life centered on family and community.

Larry loved fishing and would go whenever he had the chance. He was a natural storyteller and truly never met a stranger—he could strike up a conversation with anyone and make them feel like an old friend.

He is survived by his children, Jeanne (Brian) James of Andover, and Terry Pulec and Robert Wise, both of Stockton; his sister, Elda (Ralph Holden) Claunch of Garden City, Mo.; his brother Eugene Pulec of Stockton; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Elma Pulec; his wife, Gloria Pulec; his sister, Arlene Brown; and his brothers Duane, Melvin, and Eldon Pulec.

Service details will be announced in April 2026.

Memorials are suggested to Solomon Valley Manor and may be sent to Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home, 723 N. 1st, Stockton, KS 67669.
