Jessie E. Salley Jr.

Jessie E. Salley Jr., age 80, passed away Monday, March 20, 2023, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas.

He was born on June 3, 1942, the son of Jessie E. Salley Sr. and Wilma (January) Salley. Jessie was united in marriage to Wilma Jo “Jody" Schultz on May 19, 1961. She preceded him in death on March 23, 2011. Jessie raised three sons, Kurt, Kent, and Keith, and one daughter, Kelly. He graduated high school from Liberal High School and became a Territory Manager for E.A. Sween Company. Playing in a pool league was one of Jessie’s favorite activities. His long life was a blessing to all that knew him.

He is survived by his sons, Kurt Salley and wife, Adrian of Tyrone, Oklahoma, Kent Salley and wife, Marilyn of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Keith Salley and wife, Cass, of Beaver, Oklahoma; daughter, Kelly Wiltfong and husband, Douglas of Stockton; brothers, James Salley of Midlothian, Va., Darrell Salley of Shidler, Okla., and Richard Salley of Oklahoma City, Okla.; sister, Paula Dawson of Wichita; sisters-in-law, Esther Brown, and Doris House, both of Tyrone, Okla.; grandchildren, Bryan Salley (Kristyne) of Tulsa, Okla., Brandon Salley of Broken Arrow, Okla., Jordann Wiltfong of Hays, Justin Wiltfong (fiancé, Lauren) of Wichita, Kasia Banks (Josh) of Miami, Okla., Jacob Salley of Liberal, Keenan Salley of Irving, Texas, Peyton Salley of Hays, and Sophia Hernandez of Tyrone, Okla.; and numerous great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by both parents, Jessie E. Salley Sr. and Vada (January) Salley; his wife, Wilma Jo “Jody” Salley; and grandson, Holden Weber.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Believers Ministry, 1071 S. Clay, Liberal, Kansas, in early June 2023, with Frank Holman presiding and will be announced by Hornung Family Funeral Home, Liberal, Kansas.

Burial will be at Midway in Floris, Oklahoma.
