Body

Harriet Pauline Jones, age 94, Colorado Springs, Colo., passed away at 3:30 a.m. December 1, 2020, in Colorado Springs.

Always known as Pauline, she was born to Erma (Brechbill) and John Dayhoff in Abilene, Kansas on October 16, 1926. Pauline was the youngest sibling to Elva Murr and Nelson Dayhoff, who both preceded her in death.

As a child, she enjoyed singing and playing music. Pauline turned that joy into her career. She graduated from Kansas Wesleyan University in 1948 with a Bachelors of Arts degree. She used that degree to become a music teacher at numerous schools throughout Kansas—one of which included Woodston, Kan., where she taught for several years.

She had many fond memories of students that she had the pleasure to teach. Pauline also had happy memories of her time working with farm workers during the harvesting season, cooking large meals for the workers at the combine.
After retiring in 1991, Pauline moved to Colorado to be with her surviving sister, Elva. During retirement, Pauline enjoyed social gatherings at the senior center, walking her dogs and visiting with family.

She is survived by her niece and nephew, Patricia Francis and Robert Murr, plus many great nieces and nephews.

Pauline will be missed for her unconditional love, happiness, friendship and beautiful smile. We know that she is with her beloved family and dogs. By her request, there will be no services or viewing.
Swan-Law Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.
