Evelyn Marie Paden, age 80, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Kearney, Neb.

She was born July 29, 1942, in Densmore, Neb., the daughter of Albert August and Iva Ione (Henry) Fredde.

Throughout Evelyn’s life, she enjoyed gardening, raising flowers—especially tulips—and going to thrift stores. She loved her cats and drank black coffee for every meal. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. She would go all out decorating her house for her family each year. She loved all her family and would try to be a part of school events or anything the kids were involved in when she could. She was a great cook and worked doing so for most of her life in the Norton area.

 She is preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Patricia Garrison and Amanda Willmes; and a sister Ruth.

 Evelyn is survived by a son, Shane (Carrie) McGinley of Topeka; six daughters, Lesa Field of Wichita, Tonya (Jeff) Monroe of Denver, Colo., Jane (Bill) Vineyard of Wichita, Robin Akins of Norton, Mary Benoit of Damar, and Holly (Butch) Horn of Havensville; two brothers, Irwin and Art Fredde; a sister, Janet Rojas; granddaughter, Eden (Andrew) Davis of Norton; grandsons, Zachery Combs of Norton, and Jesse (Kayla Beth) Courtain of Richlands, N.C.; 27 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life was held Sunday, January 22, 2023, at the Bullseye Event Center at Norton. Cremation was chosen. Burial will take place in the Norton Cemetery, Norton, at a later date.
