David Lee Mullins
David Lee Mullins, aged 64, of Plainville, passed away peacefully at his home on August 24, 2025, after a long battle with cancer.
He was born August 16, 1961, in Frankfurt, Germany, to Jack Junior and Cecilia 'Sheila' (Higareda) Mullins.
After marrying Shelia Melton, they were blessed with three beautiful daughters before parting ways. In 2003, he met Barbara Jo (Fournier) Shute in Las Vegas and they came to Plainville in 2006.
David spent his early years in Illinois, attending Galesburg High School. His dedication to service led him to enlist in the United States Army, where he proudly served his country, completing multiple tours in Hawaii, Korea, and Germany.
David's legacy includes an induction into the Babe Ruth Baseball Hall of Fame—a testament to his lifelong dedication to the sport. He is survived by his life partner, Barb, of Plainville; his daughters, Brandi Mullins and Toni (Michael Ray) Langford, of Somerset, Kentucky; a bonus daughter, Staci (Dayne) Shelman, of Rossville; his twin sister, Donna (John) Kraft of Florida, brothers Mike Mullins in Somerset, Ky., and Gary Mullins in Austin, Texas, Patricia (Dave) Mullins in Galesburg, Ill.; and nine grandchildren.
His parents, Jack Junior and Cecilia 'Sheila' (Higareda) Mullins, brother Daniel Mullins, sister Maria Kolendar, and daughter Casey Mullins Strunk preceded him in death.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the VFW in Plainville. Further details to follow.
