Anita Walker Cordill
Anita Walker Cordill, 82, of Stockton, Kansas, left this earth on February 13, 2026, at the Good Samaritan Society – St. John’s in Kearney, Nebraska, and is now face-to-face with God, through the perfected work and grace of Jesus Christ.
She was born on September 3, 1943, to Loyal Walker and Dora (Hoar) Walker on a farm in Rooks County, Kansas, where she attended a small country school until 1954, when her family moved to Stockton.
Anita was a proud member of Stockton High School’s graduating class of 1961. While working as a clerk and secretary, Anita attended and graduated from Fort Hays State University, earning her bachelor’s degree, and later earned her master’s degree from Kansas State University in 1982. Anita worked as a registered dietitian, providing counseling, handling administrative duties, and serving in management roles until her retirement in 2013.
Anita enjoyed various crafts, reading, and spending time with her granddaughter, Campbell. Anita is survived by her daughter, Michelle Steinhagen and husband Robert, and granddaughter, Campbell, of Rockwall, Texas; son, Shawn Cordill, of Tyler, Texas; brother, Verl Walker, and wife Carolla of Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Wando Jo Walker; and brothers, Merle, Leo, and William Walker.
A Celebration of Life was held on Monday, February 16, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Plumer- Overlease Funeral Home in Stockton.
