A Norton man has been sentenced to more than 43 years in prison for convictions of second-degree murder and kidnapping, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said today.

Neil Fischer, age 86, of Plainville, passed away Sunday evening, May 23, 2021, at Kearney Regional Medical Center in Kearney, Neb.

He was born February 28, 1935. He married Doris Marie Miller on October 3, 1954 in Radium, Kan. They were blessed with two daughters, Nalisha and Crystal. Doris passed away February 22, 2016.

Former Palco resident, Patricia Ann Kern, age 79, of Plainville, passed away Monday, May 24, 2021, at Redbug Village in Plainville.

She was born April 24, 1942. She was married to Robert Kern.
