Stockton’s new science teacher, Anthony Cole, wants to help the students realize that science is all around us. It should not be scary, and, in fact, can be fun!

Former Stockton resident, Bernita Jean (Duffey) Gawith, age 86, Oberlin, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2022.

She was born September 10, 1935, on the family farm in Menlo to Ray and Eva (Moos) Duffey. Bernita was the 9th of 12 children. She loved spending time with her siblings.

Bernita married Mike Gawith on July 30, 1955, in Colby. They were blessed with three children: Gary (Jeannie), Peggy, and Scott (Misty).

Bernita’s interests were sewing for her family, quilting, and her button collection.
