The Kansas Department of Transportation began work last week on a bridge replacement project on K-9 in Norton County.
Crews will be replacing the bridge over Big Timber Creek located near Densmore. K-9 is closed to through traffic throughout the duration of the project, which is expected to be completed by the end of September, weather permitting. Traffic will follow the signed detour on U.S. 36, U.S. 183 and U.S. 283.
King Construction of Hesston is the primary contractor for the project with a total contract cost of $1.4 million.
