Arthur R. “Art” Armbrister, age 91, of Zurich, Kansas passed away Monday, August 22, 2022 at Redbud Village in Plainville, Kansas.

He was born November 6, 1930 in Ellis County to Christian “Christ” and Hilda (Rumpel) Armbrister.

On July 22, 1956 he married Jacqueline “Jacque” Joan Westwood in Woodston, Kansas. She preceded him in death on December 21, 1998.

Art was a lifelong farmer and rancher and truly embraced farm life. When he took time off, he enjoyed his time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Art was a US Army Veteran. He also enjoyed dancing and attending dances. He served on church council and was extremely proud of the latest addition that was added to St. John’s.

He is survived by his son, Gary Armbrister and wife Marsha of Zurich; a daughter, Denise Wilson and husband Mitch of Abilene; a brother, Curtis Armbrister and wife, Karen of Wichita; grandchildren, Courtney Wilson, Nicole (Luke) Goodenow, Janay (Dylan) Crosson, Seth (Hunter) Armbrister and Dustin (Kaedyn) Wilson as well as great-grandchildren, Grady, Lincoln and Reagyn Crosson, and Waylynn and Walker Armbrister.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a sister, Marjorie Holland; and infant twin brothers, Raymon and Arnold Armbrister.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2022, at St. John Lutheran Church in Ellis. Burial with military honors will follow in the church. cemetery.

Visitation will be on Friday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Keithley Funeral Chapel, 400 E. 17th, Ellis, KS 67637.

Visitation on Saturday will be at 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. John Lutheran Church or the Bukovina Society.
