Body

Cassandra “Cassie” Jo Hill, age 59, Stockton, passed away on June 13, 2022, at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.

She was born on July 20, 1962, in Smith Center, Kansas to Carrol and Deanna (Anderson) McQueen. She was united in marriage to Marty Hill and the couple adopted JoLee at birth in 2010; they later divorced.

Cassie was a lifetime resident of Rooks County; she grew up in Stockton and graduated with the Class of 1980. Following high school, she picked up various jobs in customer service and computer work. Her family was priority in her life; she was very involved in family activities and adored her nieces and nephews. When JoLee was adopted, Cassie revolved her life around her daughter and opened every door to every opportunity for her. She lived for her family, especially JoLee. Cassie was fun-loving, always joking, and was a very talented cheesecake baker…and eater!

It has been said that the best things in life are free: hugs, smiles, friends, family, love, laughter, and good memories. Cassie’s contagious smile and generous heart will be forever missed by everyone whose lives she touched. The memories, stories, and wonderful times with her will be forever cherished by her family and friends. She will be remembered in love.

She is survived by her mother, Deanna McQueen of Stockton; daughter, JoLee Hill of Stockton; brothers, Ed McQueen of Louisville, Ky., and David (Caroline) McQueen of Plainville; nieces and nephews: Dustin Kraft, Cory McQueen, Katie McQueen, Nolan McQueen, Mallory McQueen, and Gabby McQueen; and many great-nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father, Carrol McQueen.
