Take a deep breath because THE MEGA LUNGS are coming to Rooks County!
Join Rooks County Health Center (RCH) for a free educational tour of an inflatable, walk-through pair of lungs. The largescale, interactive model of the human lungs is designed to help teach people about the risks, symptoms, nature and causes or various pulmonary diseases.
The exhibit measures approximately 12 feet high by 15 feet wide and 10 feet long and has been featured on Dr. Oz and The Doctors television programs, and displayed at hospitals across the US. Other features of the exhibit include 3D and graphic digital art inside and out of the lungs depicting pulmonary related illnesses, information on the latest treatment and prevention of lung disease and a curriculum outline for students and their families.
The public is invited to take a free tour of the exhibit that will be on display during the Plainville home basketball game on Thursday, January 13 starting at 5pm. Rooks County Health Center employees will be available to guide tours and answer questions.
The health initiative has been provided by the generosity of the following partners: The Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM) Region 3, Rooks County Health Center, Rooks County Health Department, Plainville Wellness Coalition, Plainville USD #270, Stockton USD #271, Plainville Library, Stockton Library and Post Rock Family Medicine.
