Livestock Field Day to be held in North Central Kansas
Make plans to attend Central Kansas Beef Summit on Wednesday, November 3. The event will be highlighted by a market outlook from Derrell Peel, Oklahoma State University Extension Livestock Marketing Specialist, and a presentation on preg-checking and managing your opens from our very own K-State Research and Extension, Beef Specialist, Dr. Sandy Johnson.
The field day to be held at the Phillips County Fair Building in Phillipsburg, will be a collaboration among numerous K-State Research and Extension districts and will give producers a better chance to not only hear from industry leaders, but to also take part in conversation with one another.
In addition to the speakers, the program will offer breakout sessions where attendees can pick and choose which topics apply to them. This year’s topics will be stock water considerations with state specialist, Ron Graber, weaning and calf health with Dr. Gregg Hanzlicek, DVM, and feed inventory with K-State Research and Extension, Beef Systems Specialist, Dr. Justin Waggoner.
There will also be a producer panel featuring locals Bar Arrow Cattle Company and Krafft Beef. Something you don’t want to miss!
RSVP today to make sure you get a plate of delicious roast beef meal from Third Street Bakery. Cost to attend is $10 if you register by October 27; otherwise, late registration is $15. For more information, or to register, visit www.postrock.ksu. edu.
