Oct. 10—Ellie Bellerive and Trevor Miller were crowned the SHS Homecoming Queen and King. Five One Five Studios (owners Jed and Shey States) was featured in an article. The military tribute “Remembering Our Fallen” was to be in Plain-ville. The Stockton Pumpkin Patch was a smashing success. The homicide investigation had been closed since it was determined that Jon Flowers of Inman was responsible for the murder of Mark Reif of rural Plainville. Ilene Proctor passed away. Steven and Linda Melton were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. Jalia Creighton and Maggie had received the Rooks County Free Fair Dog Showmanship Grand Champion award. Foster Grandparent Brenda Markfort of Stockton had been recognized for her service to children with special needs.

Oct. 17—Stockton Fellowship of Christian Athletes hosted its fifth annual Fields of Faith rally. The new rehabilitation center at Rooks County Heath Center was completed. Alva Dee Winters II, Darlene J. Bedore, Donna M. Lowry, Mary Lou Odle, Janet B. Lemon and Laura L. Meireis passed away. Heather Rinehart was the October RCH Employee of the Month.
