Bruce R. Smith to be at the Rooks County Historical Society’s Celebration this Sunday

Mr. Bruce R. Smith of the National Society Sons of the American Revolution is expected to attend the Rooks County Historical Society’s April 26th Celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary. Smith is Chairman of the SAR High School essay contest and will explain the various academic opportunities for students of all grade levels. Other SAR academic opportunities are available for social studies instructors will also be discussed.

Mr. Smith will be available to answer questions from history and social studies instructors of all grade levels or from students interested in the different contests. Students need not have a Revolutionary War ancestor; all are eligible to participate in the different contests. Other opportunities include speech, video production, brochure and poster competitions at different grade levels.

The celebration of the nation’s 250th anniversary is this Sunday, April 26th at 2:00 p.m. at the Rooks County Historical Society, 921 South Cedar Street, Stockton Kansas.
