Nova Theatre is holding its annual fundraiser

It’s time for Stockton’s historic Nova Theatre to hold its annual fundraiser, which helps keep the facility a viable part of our community.

Through generous donations from the William H. Andreson fund and the Rooks County Commission, the Nova can host free movies throughout the year! Coming soon will be “Carebear Nutcracker” during Stockton’s Olde Tyme Christmas; “It’s A Wonderful Life” on Thursday, December 12th, in conjunction with the Rooks County Historical Society and Museum; and a New Year’s Eve movie!

This year, the Nova received a $5,000.00 Midwest Energy grant for the new furnace and cooling unit in its front rooms. Donations from last year’s fundraiser and this year’s fundraiser will cover the remaining costs of the project, and for the increasing maintenance on the aging digital projector.

The Nova’s fundraiser flyers are in this week’s Sentinel edition, which helps us reach a broader area for our cause, while some of our patrons will still receive their brochures through the mail.
