Andrew Bellerive is part of the Chiefs Kingdom team
The Kansas City Chiefs team is not just the football players, the coaches, the owners, and the trainers. It is every single person who works behind the scenes to make the Chiefs the dynamic organization that it is on and off the field. So, to be able to say you are part of that team has got to be one of the best feelings in the world! And that is just what Andrew Bellerive can say he is a part of!
Bellerive joined the Chiefs workforce in July of 2021 when he started in a part-time position on the Event Services Activation Team. The team sets up the gates, Ford Tailgate District, private tailgate suites, and other areas throughout the stadium days before leading up to the game and on game day. He worked closely with the operations team and some of the sales team, which sold the tailgate suites. He left his full-time job with Garmin in April 2023 and accepted a “full-time seasonal” role. After his seasonal season, he accepted a full-time position with the organization and has been with them ever since.
When he was offered the full-time position, Bellerive said it was pretty amazing, especially after leaving a full-time job with benefits and security to take a shot at the seasonal position that first year.
Bellerive began his career path when he was in high school. He knew he wanted to work in sports in some capacity, as it has always been one of his passions. So, while in college, he pursued a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management with a Business Minor and a Certificate of Entrepreneurship from the University of Kansas, graduating in May 2019.
Bellerive’s title is a Business Development Representative for the Chiefs. His duties include selling season tickets; single game, group, and premium options for all home games, along with premium areas for all the concerts and special events held at Arrowhead; and the University of Kansas games scheduled for this season. Bellerive also helps manage and assists season ticket members and their accounts throughout the year.
On home game days, he meets with the Sales team and sets up stadium gates and ticket scanners. Once the gates are open, the team assists with ticket resolution for people who may have issues accessing their tickets. After all the fans have entered the stadium, the team puts the equipment away, which usually takes until the end of the first quarter. Bellerive, who is a very handson person, likes the fast-paced and exciting environment of getting everything lined up. After their job is done, they are free to go into the game or go home. Bellerive says he is pretty tired by the time they are done with their work, so sometimes he ends up giving his two season tickets to family or friends.
When not working on game day or at an event, Bellerive has a typical Monday through Friday position with the standard hours of 8:00 a.m. to 500 p.m., where he works during the off-season selling tickets and managing accounts. He has a hybrid work schedule due to the limited desks at the Sales Office. He typically works three to four days a week at the Practice Facility at 1 Arrowhead Drive or over in the Ticket Office at the stadium. He also works one or two days a week from home, with Bellerive stating he really likes the flexibility in where he can choose to work.
Bellerive said he works 40+ hours a week, no matter the season, since summer concerts and events are scheduled throughout the year. Of course, the football season is much busier working the game days, which offers him many overtime opportunities.
Bellerive does not travel with the team to away games, but he does get to attend a sales trip when they reach their ticket sales goal. This year, the trip was in Atlanta.
Bellerive generally sees most of the players on a daily basis in the facility or on the practice field when he is at work, which, to Chiefs fans, would be one of the biggest perks of the job.
But what most people don’t know is when the Chiefs won their backto- back Super Bowls, not only did the players and coaching staff receive a ring, but all the work personnel were gifted with a ring! Bellerive has two, one smaller ring for the year he worked the seasonal part-time position and a larger one when he joined the Sales team in his full-time position.
Bellerive said, “It was a pretty awesome experience to be at the ring ceremony and to be able to celebrate a year of hard work with my co-workers and everyone on the football team and staff.”
Bellerive, who has a certificate of authenticity and his name on the big ring, doesn’t wear it often because it makes him nervous! But he had better get used to it because he might just be getting a third ring after this season!
Bellerive stated, “I really like my co-workers and the employee atmosphere, and I appreciate the Hunt family’s values and how they support and treat their employees.”
Andrew is a Stockton High School graduate and the son of Peter and Joanie Bellerive of Stockton.
