Steven Thomas DeRosear passed away on April 10, 2024, at Advent Hospital in Littleton, Colorado at the age of 53.

He was born November 3, 1970, in Madison, Wisconsin, to Tom and Ann DeRosear. Steve grew up in Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Colorado. He started 4th grade in Littleton, Colorado, and graduated from Heritage High School in 1988.

After high school, Steve enlisted in the Navy and began basic training in San Diego, California. Upon completion, he received orders to the Naval Air Station near Ft. Worth, Texas, for training in jet engine maintenance and aircraft operation. Steve then became a P-3 flight engineer for the remainder of his 20-year Naval career. Most of this time was spent in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, with his final assignment in Jacksonville, Florida. He flew missions worldwide to Europe, Japan, Australia, Panama, Peru, and Costa Rica.

While in Willow Grove, Steve met and married his wife, Sandra. In addition to Sandra’s children, Chelsea, Candice, and Paul, their son Loïc was welcomed into the family in October 2005.

After completing his naval career in 2010, Steve and his family moved to Littleton, Colorado, where he found employment with Jeppesen Aviation Company (Boeing Aircraft), providing charting and navigation services for aircraft around the world. He remained there for the next 14 years.

Steve actively participated in his son’s love of baseball from Little League through high school. In addition to baseball, Steve enjoyed all that Colorado had to offer, including fly fishing with his dad, hunting with his brother-in-law, and skiing and hiking with his wife and son. He was an expert outdoor cook and took pride in his culinary masterpieces from his prized Traeger.

Steve was preceded in death by his aunts Jane Callabresi, Linda Thomas, and Cynthia Mooney, and his grandparents Roy and Althea DeRosear and Wayne and Mabel McCaslin.

He is survived by his parents, Tom and Ann, wife Sandra, son Loïc, sister and brother-in-law Jana and Dean, stepchildren Chelsea (Alex), Candice, and Paul, father and mother-in-law Jean-Paul and Chantal, brother-in-law Frederic, and many loving cousins, uncles, and friends.
