Kendall L. Nichols Sr.

Kendall L. Nichols Sr., 83, passed away Friday, July 12, 2024, at his home in Smith Center.

He was born on December 13, 1940, in Rooks County, Kansas, the son of Levi James and Mary Leona (McReynolds) Nichols. On June 5, 1960, he married Hazel Hays in Gaylord, Kansas. To this union, they were blessed with three children: Kenny, Sandy, and Toban.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Roger Nichols, and a grandson, Joshua Levi Nichols.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel Nichols, of Smith Center; two sons, Kenny (Michelle) Nichols of Gaylord and Toban Nichols of Los Angeles, Calif.; a daughter, Sandy (Roger) Robinson, of Wilson; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at All Faiths Funeral Chapel, 113 S. Madison St., Smith Center, Kansas, with Pastor Lance McDowell officiating. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., with the family present from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. to greet family and friends. The burial will occur in the Gaylord City Cemetery, Gaylord, Kansas.

Memorials may be given to Redman Athletics and/or Smith County Volunteer Fire Department and can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.
