Connie Fae (Corwin) Allen

Connie Fae (Corwin) Allen, age 74, of Hays, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at the Republic County Hospital in Bellville.
She was born November 3, 1949, in Russell, Kansas to Albert “Bud” and Mary (Daugherty) Corwin. She married Jay Wickham Sr., and he preceded her in death. She then married Robert Dee “Bob” Allen on August 7, 1980, in Alva, Oklahoma.
Connie was a waitress at the Vagabond Restaurant in Hays for many years until it closed. She grew up in Plainville and graduated from Plainville High School in 1968. Her pride and joy were her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed her grandchildren’s activities, reading, going to the casinos, and her pet, Coco.
She is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Allen, of the home; her children, Terry Wickham and Brandy Wilkerson, Hays, and Krystle Skucius and husband, Trent, Cuba; her stepmother, Katherine Corwin, Hays; her stepchildren, Troy and wife, Juanita, Wickham, Hays, Amy Ramirez and husband, Tacho, Ulysses, Jill Regalado and husband, Jesus, Garden City, Michael Allen and wife, Julie, Evanston, Ill., and Amber Allen, Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga.; her brother, Roger Corwin, Russell; her sisters, Lou Kriley, Stockton, Karen Dunn and husband Roy, Wright City, Mo., Rosie Hake and husband, Bill, Newton, Becky Brungardt and husband, Dennis, Bazine, Melva Vopat, Hays, and Theresa Earles, El Dorado; her grandchildren, Meadow Wickham, Nathan and Andrea Young, Trevin and Kamryn Skucius, Ellis and Finley Allen, Andrew, Lucas and Karis McCarver, Jay, Jesila, and Jacob Wickham, Miranda, Dustin and Erika Ramirez, Danica, Sandra, Nicholas, and Elizabeth Regalado; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert “Bud” Corwin and Mary (Daugherty) Bos; her stepfather, Duane Bos; her first husband, Jay Wickham Sr.; son, John David Wickham; sister, Evelyn Pywell; brothers-in-law, Roy Pywell, Ray Kriley, Lee Allen, and Jerry Vopat; nephews, Jacob Corwin, Neil Allen and Tanner Allen.
Services were held Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, with Rev. Troy Miller officiating. Burial was in Winterset Cemetery south of Gorham.
