David Levi Weltmer

David Levi Weltmer, of Plainville, passed away on May 10, 2024, at the age of 72.
He was born on July 3, 1951, to Robert and Eunice (Lewis) Weltmer in Stockton, Kansas. He married Deb Hugley on February 4, 1978, in Plainville.
David grew up in Smith Center and graduated from Stockton High School in 1969. He then attended and graduated from Mid-America Nazarene University and became a minister. He spent the next 12 years as a minister for the Nazarene church at various locations. He worked a few other jobs and retired at the age of 52.
He enjoyed the mountains, reading, and watching westerns.
He is survived by his sons, Ryan (Sarah) Weltmer, Plainville, Scott Weltmer, McPherson, Derek Weltmer of Texas, and Jeff Weltmer, Salina; sister, Patty (David) Bear, rural Osborne County; brother, Dan (Pam) Weltmer, Plainville; five grandchildren, Joelle, Rylan, DJ, Dylon, and Britney; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, uncles, and aunts.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 10:30 AM at the Nazarene Church, 109 Meridian St., in Plainville. Private family burial will follow at the Plainville Cemetery.
