Michael Winters

Michael Winters, 53, Kensington, went to be with his beloved mother on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Hays Med Center with his sisters by his side. 

He was born August 7, 1972, to William (Bill) and Ruth Winters in Vernal, Utah. He grew up in Stockton, where he met the mother of his children and his closest and dearest friend, Melanie Romey. 

Michael worked as the General Manager for McDonald’s and Sonic in Norton. He retired in 2020 after a July 4 firework accident that had burned most of his upper body. 

He is survived by Melanie and their children, Elijah Judd, Rhiannon Kathleen, and Adriana Ruth Winters, all of Norton; and his siblings, Correna (Ray) Swaney and Robert (Kim) Winters, both of Stockton, Angela (Mike Townley) Kuhlmann of Woodston, and his twin sister (only five minutes younger), Michelle (Michael) Williams of Watonga, Okla. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, his oldest nephew, Jesse Swaney, and his youngest niece, Jackie Royer Kuhlmann. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Stockton.
