Rooks County E-Community and the Economic Development Office are sponsoring an event on Thursday, November 16, intended to empower and inspire our Rooks County communities. The event will be held at the First Christian Church Fellowship Center at 301 S. Broadway in Plainville.

Danna Larson, a nationally-known speaker and founder of Rural Revival, will conduct the workshop. She is from Odebolt, Iowa. Danna’s workshops are intended to help small towns build momentum and success by being inspired by the possibilities in Rural America. Reviving a town does not happen overnight, but putting together a plan and having a motivated group of leaders can take a town farther and faster.

Rooks County Economic Development Director Roger Hrabe emphasizes that the event is intended for community leaders, city council members, organization leaders, and the general public interested in helping advance a community.

“No one is going to save your community for you. A town has to save itself, which Danna aims to do with her workshops. She intends to inspire towns to do great things,” Hrabe said.

The workshop will begin at 6 p.m., but a meal will kick things off at 5 p.m. for anyone who can make it.

NOTE: To help with numbers on the meal, an RSVP would be appreciated. See the accompanying ad for how to RSVP.
