The Kansas Geological Survey reported a small earthquake in southern Rooks County last Friday, April 21.

The 2.1-magnitude quake was recorded at 11:26 a.m.

The location of the quake was approximately 6 miles east and nearly three miles south of Plainville, near Paradise Creek.
