Woody Harrelson is Marcus, a recently fired assistant coach of a minor league basketball team. Following his release, Marcus goes on a bender and ends up in an automobile altercation with a police car. The judge shows him mercy by sentencing him to community service, specifically coaching a community center’s rag-tag basketball team of intellectually challenged young adults. Marcus reluctantly takes on the challenge and is soon taken by their spirit and winning attitude.
