Documentary will be shown next Monday at the Nova Theatre
Show time at 6:30 p.m.
Schools across Kansas are giving a survey to students in 6th, 8th, 10th, and 12th grade called Kansas Communities That Care Student Survey. The survey asks questions about the use of alcohol, vaping, marijuana, and medications taken without a prescription.
While Rooks County percentages are not high, the schools want to bring an understanding of the consequences of today’s party culture, the toxic risks of combining prescription drugs with alcohol, and understanding your responsibility to act if you think someone is at risk. Rooks County Schools and Health Department would like to invite the public to see the film “If They Had Known” to bring awareness and spark discussion around these topics.
After these community showings in March, Rooks County Schools will show this documentary to our high school students. By showing our parents and community members first, it can lead to honest and open conversations at home. We look forward to seeing you at these Rooks County events.
Other show times are Tuesday, March 28th, at the McKenna Youth and Activity Center in Palco at 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday, March 29th, at the Plainville High School Auditorium at 6:30 p.m.
