Lois Ann (Claycamp) Blass
1934 - 2023
Lois Ann (Claycamp) Blass, age 89, passed away at her home on March 7, 2023.
She was born the eldest of six children to Emil and Inez (Diers) Claycamp on January 16, 1934, in Hunter, Kansas.
On November 18, 1950, she was united in marriage with Jim Blass. Seven children were born into this union, Terry, Pat, Mike, Brenda, Barb, Joe, and George.
Lois always worked outside the home, as well as being a dedicated wife and mother. Lois was a friend to everyone. She was very patient with lots of good advice.
She was the glue that held the family together. She made sure that her family would eat, play, and laugh together. Lois loved getting the family together for reunions. She always made sure there was plenty of good food, as she was an excellent cook.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James (Jim) Blass; her parents, Emil and Inez Claycamp; her siblings, Kathy Rines, Wilbur Claycamp, Louella Brunner, and Darrell Claycamp; daughter, Pat Weidenhaft; son, George Blass; grandson, Tanner Blass; and infant granddaughter, Mulder.
She is survived by her children, Terry (Dan) Mulder of Phillipsburg, Mike (Chris) Blass of Beloit, Brenda (Jim) Tietjens of Glen Elder, Barb (Bob) Broughton of Las Vegas, Nev., and Joe (Von) Blass of Santee, Calif.; son-in-law, Joe Weidenhaft of Stockton; sister, Leota (Bill) McCarthy of Manhattan; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
She would want this as a celebration of her life, not sorrow for her death.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 17, at the Roberts Family Funeral Home in Beloit. Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m., with family present from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 16, at the funeral home. The casket will remain closed.
Memorials may be given to the Mitchell County Food Pantry or the Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.
