Hello from Topeka. Welcome Spring!

It may seem hard to believe, but the legislature is now fully ten weeks into its session and has just two weeks before “first adjournment.

SENATE HIGHLIGHTS

Hello from Topeka. We are less than a month before first adjournment and a short break before returning at the end of April. There are several other issues that need to be worked on before we get there.

Hello from Agra.  We have officially made it through turnaround. This past week was busy, but we were able to pass 69 bills, for a total of 96 bills since swearing-in. As of today, the Senate has passed 62 bills that will head to us for consideration.

Hello from Topeka. The end of the week is "turnaround," the first major legislative deadline of the session. It signifies the movement of bills from their originating chamber to the other side of the rotunda. The House is scheduled for three days this week, full of debate on the House floor.

Senate Highlights – Weekly overview This week was the last week of legislative activity before VETO session. Late Friday afternoon, the Senate gaveled out for adjournment and will reconvene on April 25th for VETO Session.
