The Rooks County Commission held a short business meeting on Tuesday, May 6th. They started with a 30-minute executive ses-sion to discuss non-elected personnel with the three commissioners, Jake Prockish, Tracy Rudman, Tim Berland, and clerk Laura Montgomery in attendance.

The first order of business for the Stockton City Commission at their meeting on Tuesday, May 5th was the approval of the Consent Agenda which included the Solomon Valley Manor gross payroll for $103,306.39, the Solomon Valley Manor warrants for $121,141.

Stockton High School held its Awards Night on Wednesday, May 7th, honoring the students with the presentation of athletic and organizational accomplishments.

You weren't alone if you were confused about what happened with the 2025 Stockton High School Graduation section last week. The Sentinel staff created a special pull-out section for graduation, which was intended to include pages 11-14.

A total of 350 votes were cast in the 2025 Board of Directors Election, an increase of 42 votes compared to the 308 votes in 2024. The election for two seats on the Rooks County Health Center Board of Directors took place at the hospital on Friday, May 2, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

At the invitation of Kansas Governor Laura Kelly, Cason Iwanski of Stockton was selected to attend the 42 nd Annual Governor's Scholar Awards Program on May 4, in Topeka. The recognition ceremony honors the top academic one percent of Kansas high school seniors.

The Rooks County Health Center’s 71st annual Hospital District meeting was held on Friday, May 2nd at 6:00 p.m. in the hospital meeting room.
