Special school board meeting held last week

Body
The Stockton USD 271 Board of Education met on Tuesday, March 1st for a special meeting. The first order of business was to approve and sign a response letter to the Plainville 270 Board of Education about the article in the February 17th edition of the Plainville Times referring to the discovery meeting held in Stockton on January 19th with Stockton USD 271, Plainville 270 and Palco 269 in attendance. The Stockton board members felt they came away from that meeting with a lot of positive feedback, and were in the process of setting up another exploration meeting with KASB for more in-depth discussions on consolidation. The waiver of conflict of interest that was asked to be signed by the districts at the meeting was so that one KASB representative could represent all three school districts at the upcoming meeting that Stockton was going to schedule. It was the intent of the board members to have KASB attend the meeting to direct, talk, fact find, and answer questions from the three Districts. It was also noted that at the end of the day a vote for any type of consolidation comes down to a public vote.
