Jarek Meyer of Athol, Kansas, a senior in agricultural economics at Kansas State University, has been awarded the Matthew Kent Stamper Memorial Scholarship through the Arthur Capper Cooperative Center and the Department of Agricultural Economics at Kansas State University.

At the November 13th regular Stockton School Board meeting, the members voted to accept the resignations of Spencer Hilbrink and Heath Muir as junior high football coaches. They also received the resignation from Muir as high school golf coach. The Board then voted to split the assistant junior high girls basketball coach duties between Ray Niblock, Troy Rogers, and Deirdra Kuhlmann.

The apostle Paul’s letters to the various churches and his missionary journeys are a big part of the New Testament. And, as you read through each of the books of the New Testament, you see a theme throughout many of the books—Thankfulness. As we go through this week of Thanksgiving, it is an excellent time to examine the thankfulness of a man who, on the surface, seemingly had little to be thankful for.

Stockton High School will host a FAFSA informational meeting at the Nova Theatre (517 Main in Stockton) on Monday, November 27th, at 6:30 p.m. All seniors, juniors, and their families from Stockton and surrounding schools are invited to attend.

The third-grade students of Brooke Harris at Stockton Grade School are featured in individual ads in this week’s Sentinel. Each student was given a letter of the alphabet. They were then asked to create a poster representing what they are thankful for this Thanksgiving, which begins with their assigned letter. Because there are only 15 students in the class, some of the students drew a couple posters. A bonus this year is Mrs. Harris even took a letter to express that for which she is thankful!
