* Mr. and Mrs. Jack Muir of Colorado were the parents of a daughter born on March 5th. The little miss had not yet been named at press time.

* The City management had announced that as of the first of April, the ordinance against dogs running at large without license tags would be strictly enforced. The unlicensed dogs would be picked up and those not claimed after three days would be destroyed. A tranquilizer gun had been purchased to aid in the picking up of the strays. *

* Rev. Paul of Columbus had accepted the pastorate at the Stockton Assembly of God Church and was to be in Stockton before Easter.

* The high school golf team, coached by C. R. Scott, had been practicing at what Mr. Scott termed the “Fairgrounds Country Club” since there was no local golf course. The boys making up the team were Richard Desmarteau, Kinney Baxter, John Berkley, Gregg Dean, Mark Osborn, Terry Odle, Bobby Williams, Mike Lawson, Larry Conyac and Bill Scott.

* From The Feminine Slant By The Office Cat: Next Tuesday is St. Patrick’s Day, which is the proper time to plant your potatoes...except if you happen to belong to the school that feels that Good Friday is the proper “tater” planting day.

* Looking Backward Fourteen Years Ago: The Stockton Tigers had captured the Regional Basketball Tournament and were the first team in the school’s history to enter the state tournament. Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Melton were the parents of a son born on March 8th. Mrs. Ella Harwood had celebrated her 93rd birth anniversary.

* Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Jones, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Ford of Phillipsburg, had been in Omaha, Nebraska for the showing of Ford’s new “Mustang"

* On sale at Oyer Food Market were five grapefruits for 490, three pounds of yellow onions for 290, Canadian bacon for 980 a pound, and a quart jar of Miracle Whip salad dressing for 490.

* The Stockton Western Auto Dealer Store, owned by I. F. Gross, had announced the opening of a new catalogue order center as an added service for the customers in the area. The service was part of a nation-wide catalog order program with more than 438 company stores and 4,000 home-owned and operated dealer shops, which made it the largest single group of catalog order centers in the United States. Tennessee Ernie Ford, the popular radio and television personality, had been signed to feature the new catalog order service on his ABC network television show.

* The Midway Café announced Friday nights as Pancake Night. They were to feature a variety of syrups including blueberry, strawberry, banana, and applesauce.

* Lee Roy Doty of Rooks County Grain Co., Inc. had been among the 50 Ralston Purina dealers selected throughout the country to attend the Purina Livestock Top Level Sales School in St. Louis, Mo.

* Showing at the Nova Theatre were the movies “The Man from Galveston;’ starring Jeff Hunter and Preston Foster, and “Mary, Mary;’ starring Debbie Reynolds, Barry Nelson and Diane McBain.
